📍Jinja, Uganda | $15 to Stay by Lake Victoria 📍 Home On The Nile The owner is from London and retired to Jinja two years ago This place was originally an apartment and was converted into a homestay I love the retro and elegant decor This building has one double room and six bunk beds The double room is $45 for one person $60 for two people with a private bathroom and breakfast I don't think it's very cost-effective The four of us took the bunk beds $15 per person with breakfast, two showers, and one bathroom (breakfast is also very rich) RMB 105 per person for this environment and view is unbeatable Lake Victoria is calm and peaceful, I love sitting on the balcony with a cat The bar serves juice or beer, and you can watch the sunset by the lake The hotel's chef was taught to cook by a Chinese person The food is very Chinese and delicious (but expensive) The ecological environment here is really great, with birds flying everywhere The children in the fishing village are very curious about foreigners and come to say hi to you from time to time In the evening, the owner drove us in a vintage car from the same year as me He took us to listen to a local live house It was my first time going out at night in Africa
