Jingzhou Binyang Tower

Jingzhou Binyang Tower, commonly known as the East Gate Tower, was first built in the Ming dynasty and rebuilt in 1861. In August 1987, it was designed and restored by the National Cultural Relics Protection Research Institute and officially opened to tourists in 1987. The entire tower is 9.5 meters high, 12.65 meters wide from east to west, and 34 meters long from north to south. It adopts a large wooden frame structure, which is magnificent and unique in shape, maintaining the architectural style of the Ming dynasty. The three golden characters "Binyang Tower" were inscribed by Zhao Puchu. The tower is divided into two floors. On the second floor, there are bronze-like sculptures of Liu Bei, Zhang Fei, Guan Yu, Zhuge Liang, and Zhao Zilong, which are lifelike. Outside the Binyang Tower, there are also realistic colored sculptures of the Three Kingdoms warriors such as Ma Tong and Zhou Cang.
