In 1597, during the Immortal War, the Joseon navy led by Admiral Yi Sun-sin defeated 13 Japanese ships (some say 333 ships) at Myeongnyang, achieving a miraculous victory. It is well depicted in the KBS drama Immortal Yi Sun-sin and the movie Myeongnyang, and Myeongnyang currently has a museum, cable car, 3D theater, and other facilities, so you can travel without much explanation.
