Shandong Museum is the first provincial comprehensive geographical museum established after the founding of New China. It is located on Jing Shi Road, Lixia District, Jinan City, and is a national first-class museum. The museum houses more than 200,000 sets of collections. The museum is divided into three floors with 22 exhibition halls. The permanent exhibitions include 'Hai Dai Rixin - Shandong Historical and Cultural Exhibition', 'Shandong Dragon - Crossing the Cretaceous', 'Crystal Color - Exploring the Magical World of Minerals', 'Buddhist Statue Art Exhibition', 'Han Dynasty Image Art Exhibition', 'Archaeological Shandong (Talking about Shandong)', 'Shandong Archaeological Achievements Exhibition', 'African Wildlife Migration Exhibition', and 'Porcelain Charm - Ming and Qing Imperial Kiln Porcelain Exhibition from Shandong Museum'. The highlight is the 'Hai Dai Rixin - Shandong Historical and Cultural Exhibition', which comprehensively and stereoscopically displays the 600,000-year human history, 10,000-year cultural history, 5,000-year civilization history, 3,000-year Qi and Lu cultural history, and 100-year struggle history of Shandong. Shandong Museum boasts a rich collection of cultural relics, especially pottery, bronzes, oracle bones, Han dynasty image stones, Ming dynasty costumes, and revolutionary relics. Notably, it features cultural relics from the Dawenkou, Longshan, and Yueshi cultures, as well as Qi and Lu cultural relics. The museum's ten nationally renowned treasures include the red pottery beast-shaped pot, the eggshell black pottery high-stem cup, the Shang dynasty Ya Chou axe, Shang dynasty oracle bones, the Western Zhou dynasty Song Gui, the large jade bi of the Lu state, bamboo slips of 'The Art of War by Sun Tzu' and 'The Art of War by Sun Bin', the mural of the Han tomb in Dongping, the nine-stream crown, and the double pine scroll by Zheng Xie, ranging from the red pottery beast-shaped pot of the Dawenkou period and the eggshell black pottery high-stem cup of the Longshan culture to the nine-stream crown of the Ming Lu king. Shandong Museum offers a variety of parent-child interactive activities, including the Shandong Time-honored Brand and Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Hall, where various pottery, glass, kite, gold stone rubbing, handmade soap, and silk enamel making skills can be experienced. The study activities are also colorful, including the ancient pottery peak 'Eggshell Black Pottery', the natural science study practice education activity 'Star Animals on the African Grassland', the study theme activity 'Exploring the Hai Dai', the study theme activity 'Ritual and Music Harmony', the museum's 'Meeting the Jade Rabbit', writing on bamboo slips, the 'Crowning Love - Napoleon Special Exhibition Study Activity', and the 'Meeting the Sea along the Yellow River' theme study activity. When visiting Shandong Museum, you don't necessarily need to purchase services from the cultural and creative store. The museum has four stamps: the first one, a blue stamp, is located at the entrance service desk (guide desk); the second floor water bar has one black stamp; the third floor water bar (half tea room) has one red stamp and one blue stamp. Shandong Museum is adjacent to Shandong Art Museum and Archives, 2.4 kilometers from Shandong Geological Museum, 6 kilometers from Thousand Buddha Mountain Scenic Area, and 9 kilometers from Daming Lake.
