The prices of the two are comparable and they are competitors, both having been in operation for many years. The advantage of the Hyatt is that it is more friendly to members, generously upgrading room types. This time I stayed in an executive suite with double doors, a layout of one bedroom, two living rooms, and two bathrooms. The area is not small, but there are only two small windows. Coupled with traditional Chinese decoration, dark solid wood furniture, dark gold calligraphy screens, and silk palace lanterns, the overall space is rather dim and somewhat oppressive. Perhaps it is my personal bias, but I feel that the classical Chinese decoration style cannot escape the atmosphere of deep courtyards of poetry and etiquette. As a modern hotel, which is a place for leisure and stay, comfort should come first. Choosing a simple national style like the St. Regis in Changsha seems more appropriate to me. The untimely and somewhat strange Chinese aesthetics fill the details of the room. The careful maintenance by the management team and the traces of time wear and tear are in a contest with each other, both of which can be seen with the naked eye. When the morning light penetrates the window gauze and screen, climbing up the multi-treasure cabinet and slowly illuminating each porcelain piece, the unique temperament of this place is finally sublimated. The executive lounge is located on the top floor of the hotel, with a broad view, offering simple afternoon tea and a fairly rich evening happy hour, with four dishes and two soups fixed every day, as well as freshly cooked specialty main courses. Of course, the best part is that you can drink four kinds of freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices at any time. The fitness center and swimming pool are located on the fifth floor of the hotel, both of which are not large in scale but are quite practical. The swimming lane is long and narrow without decoration, and the afternoon sunlight can directly shine into the bottom of the water through the glass windows, making the water body clearer. The water temperature is suitable, and on weekdays it is almost like a private venue. In the locker room, there is also a hot water pool and sauna. The breakfast the next day was arranged in the restaurant on the first floor. Although the variety is not much, the details are surprising. There are also many local Shandong specialties, such as braised pork, Jinan sweet soup, tofu pudding, fried cakes, etc. As for the service level, it needs improvement. Not to mention there was no advance phone greeting, even when I arrived at the hotel entrance, there was no one to be seen. During the breakfast period, no one attended to us, we had to do everything ourselves. Only the newly employed Yoki in the executive lounge greeted us with a smile and sincerity.
