Jinan Forest Park

Jinan Forest Park is the only comprehensive urban park in the western part of Jinan city that integrates forest land, wetlands, streams, sculptures, and other landscapes, and combines functions such as recreation, science education, fitness, and disaster avoidance. The park is located in Huaiyin District on Zhangzhuang Road, bordered by Xingji River to the east and the Second Ring West Road to the west. It was formerly one of Jinan's earlier nurseries and is also the birthplace and main base for Jinan's garden plants, boasting a rich variety of garden plant species and a group of experienced garden professional technicians, making it a great place to appreciate and explore garden plants. The overall layout of the park is 'one ring, one axis, five lakes, and nine gardens.' 'One ring' refers to the shaded landscape road that encircles the entire park; 'one axis' is the central main axis that runs through the natural landscape from south to north, from the south gate entrance through the terrace garden, Lancui Lake, the science education exhibition hall to the wetland landscape at the northernmost end; 'five lakes' are the main water landscapes in the park, including Lancui Lake, Yongcui Lake, Yingcui Lake, Huayu Bay, and Jicui Pond; 'nine gardens' are specialized garden areas, including the terrace garden, sculpture garden, science education garden, spring flower garden, summer wood garden, autumn scenery garden, fir garden, bamboo garden, and children's playground. Based on the low-lying terrain of the original nursery, several lakes were constructed and connected by streams. Normally serving as water landscape features, they collect rainwater during the flood season, effectively playing a role in flood storage, flood diversion, and drainage, and can also be used for irrigating green spaces.
