|A masterpiece of glass art. Taiheyan Archway, known as the "Glass Archway" by the locals, was originally the archway in front of the Zhenwu Temple. Now the temple has been destroyed, leaving only this exquisite archway standing here. The Taiheyan Archway was built in the 23rd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1897). It faces south and has four pillars, three doors and three floors. It is built on a stone waisted Sumeru pedestal and has a hip roof with yellow glazed tiles. The lintels, brackets, door lintels, tile ridges, ridge decorations with animal shapes, as well as various floral patterns and texts of the Ming and secondary rooms are all made of yellow, green and blue glazed components. The Taiheyan Archway decorations are rich in content, whether it is dragon patterns, auspicious beasts, flowers, birds, fish, insects, figures, landscapes, or couplets and plaques, especially the wording, which not only contain Taoist metaphors, but also the connotation of beautiful wishes for good luck, happiness, longevity and peace in Chinese traditional culture, fully reflecting the wisdom and talent of the ancients, and is a typical masterpiece of the heyday of Chinese glass art.
