Nengren Ancient Temple

Nengren Temple: Originally built in 503, the second year of the Tianjian era of the Southern Liang Dynasty. During the flourishing of Buddhism in the Tang Dynasty, Lu Zhi, a Hanlin scholar, donated his residence to establish the Foye Yuan. In the second year of the Kaiyun era of the Later Jin Dynasty of the Five Dynasties, it was renamed Baoguo Yuan. In the first year of the Dazhong Xiangfu era of the Song Dynasty, it was renamed Chengtian Yuan, and in the seventh year of the Zhenghe era, it was renamed Nengren Yuan. During the Yuan Dynasty, the temple was destroyed by war. In 1391, the 24th year of the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty, the temple was rebuilt and renamed Nengren Jiao Temple. In the second year of the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty, the temple was officially named Nengren Chan Temple.
