Jiaxing Day Trip | City Walk + Stroll Around the Fairy Lake|||I've been to Jiaxing many times, but I've never really explored the city. I recently discovered this hidden gem of a city walk route and the super popular Fairy Lake. It's a great way to escape the concrete jungle for a weekend day trip, perfect for a weekend getaway from Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang. 1️⃣ Jiaxing City Walk Route 🚗 Navigate to: Jiaxing Catholic Church It's about a 1.5-hour drive from Hangzhou. The route is about 4 km long, easy to walk, and not tiring at all. Recommended route: ✅ Our Lady of Lourdes Church: The third largest church in the Far East, a rare large Italian Gothic building in East China. The large lawn in front of the church is perfect for photos, like a weekend in Europe. ✅ Zicheng Ruins Park: Built in the Three Kingdoms period, you can pass through the majestic city gate and climb the city wall to experience the history. ✅ Pingshan: The highest mountain in Jiaxing, only 16 meters high. It's small but exquisite, with a view at every step, perfect for photos. ✅ Tongguan Pagoda: Located in the center of Shaonian Road, built in the Five Dynasties or Northern Song Dynasty. ✅ Yuehe Historical Block: Named for its waterway that curves around the city like a crescent moon. Recommended spots: Flower and Bird Market, Antique Market, Zongzi Museum. 🍽️ Jianyin Restaurant: A local favorite, cheap and delicious. 2️⃣ Fairy Lake 🚗 Navigate to: Fairy Lake Ecological Park This hidden gem is located in the suburbs of Haiyan City. It was once a mining site, but has been transformed into a stunning landscape reminiscent of the fjords. The loop around the lake is about 4 km, with almost no elevation gain. 🎫 Tickets: Free 🍽️ The area is still under development, but there are some small shops and stalls selling simple food around the lake. 🚻 Plenty of restrooms, just a few steps away. 📷 Core photo spot: On a small hill near Wuxia Road, with a view similar to the fjords.
