A mountain and a temple

This is an ancient temple that is more than 1,800 years old. It was originally named Tiangong Temple. During the Tianbao period, it was renamed Ciyu Temple by Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty. It is one of the ten famous temples in the Tang Dynasty. During the period of the National Revolution, it was also a nationally renowned Buddhist college. The Ciyu Temple, which has experienced several ups and downs in the history of dynasties, has ten halls, four floors, three halls, two gardens, one square and four rooms. The halls are deep and secluded, large in scale, exquisite in architecture, and the most beautiful in Xichuan. Nowadays, this quiet Zen forest with dense ancient cypresses and tall ginkgo trees has become a popular photo-taking spot for tourists in every autumn. Walking slowly in Ciyu Temple, you can smell the curling incense and hear the sound of Buddhist scriptures. When the autumn wind blows, the fallen leaves float down and cover the ground, which complements the red walls, green tiles, eaves and tripods in the temple, creating a kind of otherworldly beauty! Best viewing period: November to early December in Chengdu, when the ginkgo trees are covered in golden yellow. There are snack stalls run by locals outside the temple, selling noodles, wontons, hot and sour noodles, fried potatoes, etc. You can also enjoy tea and view the scenery.
