Jiaochangwei/Dapeng Fortress

Dapeng Fortress in Jiaochangwei stands like a cliff in time, nestled on the coast, capturing both the tranquility of the ancient city and the gentle whispers of the waves. Originally a battlefield for Ming Dynasty soldiers, strolling between the ancient city walls and the shoreline, one can almost hear the gentle whisper of the stone bricks to the sea breeze (this was once where the officers and soldiers of the fortress trained). Exiting the city gates, the Longqi Bay coastline greets you. The sand, varying from coarse to fine, moist with the scent of sea salt, is a first encounter between man and nature—the beach is like an unwritten diary page, its story told through the ebb and flow of the tide. I particularly love the "twilight hour" here, where history and modernity intertwine: the setting sun casts the castle's shadow on the sea, waves gently lap against the old tiles, and the sea breeze and the city walls join forces to weave a silent declaration. As night falls, the lights of the guesthouses reflect on the wet sand, and the hustle and bustle of the city is subdued by the rhythm of the sea, becoming a gentle breath. This is not only a reunion of the ancient city and the coast, but also a perceptual experience of "letting history and the present resonate, and reading slowly in the light and tide."
