Encountering Thousand Lion Mountain | A Poetic Rendezvous of Stone Lions and Landscapes 🦁 This highly acclaimed scenic area is renowned for its 3,268 stone lions and the towering 25-meter-high King of Stone Lions. ------ Itinerary: • Morning: Arrive at the main gate of Thousand Lion Mountain Scenic Area, purchase tickets, and enter. I chose to hike up the mountain, enjoying the natural scenery along the way and experiencing the unique charm of stone lion culture. • Noon: Take a short break at the rest area within the scenic area, savoring local specialty snacks like tofu pudding to recharge. • Afternoon: Continue deeper into the scenic area, visiting attractions such as Thousand Lion Archway, Vajra Gate, Yanqing Pagoda, and Xianlin Zen Temple. In front of the Thousand Lion Archway, I paused to admire the exquisitely carved stone lions, feeling the awe of art; at Xianlin Zen Temple, I appreciated the charm of ancient architecture. Standing on the pavilion of the ancient architectural complex, I gazed into the distance, feeling refreshed and relaxed. • Evening: Arrive at the King of Lions attraction. This 25-meter-high stone lion, the largest in the world, is majestic and breathtaking. Afterwards, I climbed to Wenfeng Pagoda to overlook the beautiful scenery of Jianchuan City, bringing this trip to a perfect conclusion. ------ Route Details: • Starting from the ticket office, climb up the steps to reach Thousand-Step Slope, a physically challenging section, but the varied forms of stone lions along the way add much fun to the climb. • After passing Thousand-Step Slope, arrive at Thousand Lion Archway. This stone archway is carved with a full thousand stone lions, making it the archway with the most stone lion carvings in the world. • Proceed along Yangxin Road, pass Yingxian Bridge, and reach Vajra Gate. Here, a vajra statue stands in each of the pavilions on either side, and the stone gate is inscribed with "One Passage to Enlightenment," carrying profound meaning. • Continue forward to visit attractions like Jingcui Rock, Thousand Lion Wall, and Zhao Fan’s Study Tower. In front of the Thousand Lion Wall, I admired nine lion heads representing the different styles of lions from nine dynasties since the Eastern Han Dynasty, experiencing the evolution of lions in China. • Passing through Xianlin Zen Temple, arrive at the King of Lions attraction. Here, I observed up close this unparalleled stone lion king, feeling its grandeur and magnificence. • Finally, climb to Wenfeng Pagoda to overlook the panoramic view of Jianchuan City, bringing this journey to a perfect close.
