Jeju Island Attraction with a Romantic Name: Sangumburi Crater

Sangumburi Crater is a natural monument with a circumference of over 2 kilometers. Located on the flatlands southeast of Jeju City, it has a diameter of 650 meters, a depth of 100 meters, and a circumference of 2070 meters. Viewed from the sky, Sangumburi Crater resembles a man-made circular stadium, somewhat similar to the Big and Small Empty Mountains in Tengchong. Sangumburi Crater was also the location for the outdoor scenes of the movie 'Romance of Wind and Song'. Below Sangumburi Crater, due to the numerous fissures and the erosion by water, the ecological distribution of plants within the crater is particularly unique. It's one of the stops on a day tour, where I took a leisurely half-circle walk. It's quite rare to see a crater without a volcanic lava vent, and the variety of plant species within the park is very diverse.
