Yamashita Park: Land Reclamation

Yamashita Park: It is a park built on reclaimed land, and the soil required comes from the waste soil and rubble of the Great Kanto Earthquake. There is also a cruise ship called Hikawa Maru docked at the park's pier. From 1930 to 1960, it was a regular cruise ship sailing between Japan and North America. It was the most luxurious cruise ship in Japan at the time and was known as the "Queen of the Pacific". It has now been converted into a tourist memorial ship for the public to visit. The ships sailing in and out of Yokohama Port and the seagulls flying in the sky make you feel the unique charm of this coastal city.
