After visiting Izumo Taisha, we went to Mankyusen Shrine and here to pray for good fortune and financial luck. It is one of the candidates for the shrines mentioned in the Izumo Fudoki as Izumo-yashiro. It is a "shikinaisha" (shrine within the framework of the Engishiki), created in the Heian period, and is a very historic and distinguished shrine. The enshrined deity, Yatsukamizuomitsuno-mikoto, was a very powerful god. He stood on top of Mount Kaminaka (Mount Butsukyou) in Izumo County and came up with the idea of ​​pulling the country, saying, "Izumo is a long and narrow country like a narrow cloth, so if there is any surplus land anywhere, let's pull it and join it together to make it wider." After accomplishing this great task, he was enshrined in this place. In ancient times, the territory itself was a symbol of wealth, and the "Land-pulling Myth" is a story about increasing wealth by force. The myth is said to have been created by attaching a rope to Mt. Sahime (Mt. Sanbe) and Mt. Hikami (Mt. Oyama), using them as stakes, and drawing four lands from various countries to the land of Izumo with the words "Kuniko Kuniko." It is difficult to access without a car.
