The Hidden Gem of Izu Peninsula: Shuzenji

🚋 Early in the morning, I took the JR train to Shuzenji. After arriving at the station, you need to take a bus to Shuzenji Onsen Station. The roads were almost deserted. ⛩ Hie Shrine is quite small and unattended (there's even a self-service vending machine for ema plaques). 📮 Shuzenji Temple is also not very large, but the goshuincho (stamp books) they sell are beautifully designed and exquisite. Right next to and across from Shuzenji Temple, there are shops selling local specialties. 🍁 Walking along the small path next to the footbath leads you to Maple Bridge and the Bamboo Forest Path (there are a few other bridges, but I forgot their names). The Bamboo Forest Path is short but very pleasant. 📌 Shuzenji as a whole is not very big, and the map provided at the station is very detailed, so there's no need to worry about getting lost. Around Shuzenji Temple, there are many interesting small shops and restaurants. Feel free to explore any shop that catches your eye, taking your time to stroll and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.
