🇹🇷 The Suleymaniye Mosque is one of the most beautiful in Istanbul.

It doesn't dazzle like the Blue Mosque, nor does it hum with crowds like Hagia Sophia. Everything here is about harmony: the light gliding across the dome, footsteps lost in silence, and the feeling that time has stood still. 🏗️ It was built between 1550 and 1557 by order of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent—the same Sultan whose age went down in history as golden. The talented architect Sinan created not just a mosque, but an entire complex with a madrasah, a library, a hospital, baths, and even kitchens where the poor were fed. 🕌 Every detail of the complex is symbolic. The four minarets signify that Suleiman was the fourth sultan of Istanbul, and the ten balconies on them remind us that he was the tenth ruler of the dynasty. 🪦 In the mosque's courtyard is an ancient cemetery where Sultan Suleiman himself and his beloved wife, Roxelana (Hurrem Sultan), are buried. ✨ The terrace offers one of the best views of the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus, breathtaking even for seasoned travelers. 🌅 Tip: Come here around sunset.
