【South Korea】Seoraksan National Park: Best Attraction for the Whole Family

Seoraksan (설악산) is part of the Taebaek Mountain Range in Gangwon Province in eastern South Korea. Seoraksan has 28 peaks, among which Daecheongbong is 1,708 meters above sea level, making it the third highest peak in South Korea. Because the mountain is covered with snow for five to six months a year, it is called "Seorak." Seoraksan National Park was designated as Korea's fifth national park in 1970 and the country's first UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1982. Transportation, Tickets and Opening Hours If you have a car, it’s only a 12km drive from Sokcho to Seoraksan National Park. Since my family didn't rent a car, we took bus No. 7-1 (you can also take bus No. 7) from the bus stop opposite Sokcho Express Bus Terminal. The 7 and 7-1 buses run every 30 minutes.
