Mama Temple Village in Aotou Town

Mama Temple Village is located in Aotou Town, Daya Bay, Huizhou, and is known as the "Architectural Museum by Daya Bay". The village is interwoven with several old buildings from the Republic of China period and ancient trees and vines, exuding a strong sense of antiquity. Mama Temple Village has a history of nearly 400 years. Relying on the developed salt and fishing industries, it was once a wealthy village. At the beginning of the last century, many villagers who started businesses overseas returned home in fine clothes and built watchtowers. Today, some ancient residences from the Qing Dynasty and watchtowers and stone houses from the Republic of China period are still preserved. The village is relatively hidden and not easy to find, and it is not a tourist area. Most of the old houses and watchtowers are no longer inhabited, and many homeowners are far away. The ancient village is left to the mottled walls to tell the glory and stories of the past.
