🏠 Border crossing conditions have been relaxed recently and hotel room rates have fallen. We originally booked a deluxe king-size bed room at a price of less than $300 per person. When we checked in, the staff took the initiative to upgrade the room type for us. As soon as we entered the room, the beautiful view came into view. 🛏️ The most praiseworthy thing is that the bed is a real big bed!! Unlike many hotels that just merge two beds, you won’t feel the springs in the middle, and the bed is just the right hardness and softness. Both U and I slept soundly. 📺 All basic facilities are available, and the executive suite even has a coffee machine with 4 coffee capsules. Although the TV is not a smart TV, it has no effect on us because we just connect it to a switch to play games xd. The original room has a wall-mounted TV that can be pulled out to adjust the angle, while the executive suite has a fixed TV in the bedroom and living room. ⚠️ A diary-style description of an unexpected situation As night owls, it was already past 2 a.m. when we finished playing Switch and taking a shower. After lying on the bed for a while, U said he smelled a strong smell of cigarette smoke. Later we deduced that the people next door had actually been smoking for a while, but we were like a frog in boiling water and only noticed it when the smell of smoke became very strong. I just wonder why my throat seems to be a little uncomfortable lol As for why we concluded that the person in the next room was smoking, we have to mention the design of the room. As you enter the room, there is the toilet on the right and a locked brown door on the left (probably only hotel staff can open it). In other words, if that door is gone, the two rooms are interconnected. To confirm further, Mr. U walked out of the corridor and could not smell any smoke at all. On the contrary, the smell of the brown door was very strong. So I called the front desk staff to complain and expressed strongly that I couldn't sleep. The service staff said they would send someone to check and asked if we wanted to change rooms. We said we would see what arrangements the hotel had. After waiting for about 5 minutes, two staff members in suits (probably managers) came to visit. The leader said that they could smell smoke three rooms away 😂. Then when we said we didn't mind, he lowered his mask slightly and smelled the brown door to confirm that the smell was coming from the side. We mentioned that we heard the two men on the other side speaking fluent Mandarin so we didn't dare to argue with them directly. The manager seemed to comfort us and said that he would tell the hotel if it was him. Maybe they suspected that they were violating the limit on the number of people having a party and asked us if we heard many people talking next door. However, from what we heard, there were only two people, so we were not sure. After the manager expressed his understanding, he also asked if we wanted to change rooms, to which we agreed. Afterwards the manager came in and gave us a new room card and told us the location of the new room and then left. The result is what you see in the first 5 pictures (the last 6 were taken in the original room)🫢It was already 3 a.m. when I finished moving my things to the new house manually. We had to check out at 12pm. Although the perfect idea was to hope that the hotel would proactively delay check-out, after all, it was not the hotel's problem but the guest's, and it was worth it to change to such a good room. ✍🏻Overall rating Because I forgot what criteria/what mood I used to rate the last time, I decided not to rate it in the future. However, if I hadn't encountered any illegal guests this time, it would have been a very good accommodation experience overall, and I was also satisfied with the hotel's response👍 #staycation #arrivalhotel
