Hidden Heart-shaped Lake at Kwu Tung Reservoir 🩵

If you think Hong Kong is boring, here's a hidden gem for you! Although it's a bit far, it's still a relatively easy and quick spot to visit. Did you know Hong Kong has a heart-shaped lake? Before heading there, make sure to apply mosquito repellent because there are tons of mosquitoes, especially near the lake. It's recommended not to get too close to the lake. Instead, go to the hilltop near Kwu Tung Reservoir for a panoramic view and a perfect photo spot! Even with mosquito repellent all over, I still got bitten—those mosquitoes are really aggressive. Once you reach the top of Kwu Tung Reservoir Hill, you'll see some railings. We climbed over the wire fence, which was a bit risky since the rope was broken. You can grab onto tree branches, but safety is key. Side note: While passing through Kwu Tung Village, we encountered some fierce guard dogs. However, we were pleasantly surprised to see two cats enjoying their food on a tin roof—cat lovers, take note! Route: Sheung Shui Station > Bus 76K/Minibus 50A > Kwu Tung Market > Kwu Tung Reservoir Pit Public Toilet > Kwu Tung South Road > Turn left at the fork to Kwu Tung Reservoir (optional) > Turn right at the fork to Kwu Tung Reservoir Hill (Kirin Hill) > Return via the same route Distance: Approximately 1km Duration: Around 1 hour round trip
