Opened in 1989, the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong has been a witness to many significant moments in Hong Kong's history, including the 1997 handover. With 36 years of history, this iconic hotel, rich in Hong Kong charm, has only grown more distinguished over time. It remains the flagship of Grand Hyatt in the Asia-Pacific region, boasting a unique location and stunning Victoria Harbour views that exude an extraordinary flagship-level aura. Rooms: This stay was in the Grand Club Harbour View King Room, located on the same floor as the Grand Club. The floor-to-ceiling windows face northwest, offering unobstructed views of the ICC, IFC, and the dazzling Central skyline. The room spans approximately 40 square meters, providing a practical living space reminiscent of the Grand Hyatt Hangzhou. The facilities are comprehensive and up-to-date, ensuring a comfortable stay. Dining: The Grand Club is undoubtedly the highlight! Especially during the evening Happy Hour, where unlimited Ruinart champagne 🍾 is served alongside exquisite macarons, showcasing the high-end sophistication and robust capabilities of this flagship Grand Club. The views from the windows here even surpass those from the guest rooms. For lunch, the hotel's Western restaurant was chosen, and the steak was tender, juicy, and of impeccable quality. Breakfast was diverse and abundant, with a spacious serving area offering a wide variety of dishes to satisfy the taste buds of travelers from around the globe. Public Areas: The hotel lobby features a double-layer design, with a massive floral arrangement in the atrium, complemented by flowing water features on both sides and a spiral staircase. Every visitor can't help but pause and admire the grandeur and splendor of the past. The pool and spa area are located outdoors and connected to the neighboring Renaissance Hotel. Unfortunately, during the Lunar New Year period, the pool was under maintenance and unavailable for use, though guests could access the pool facilities at the adjacent hotel. Service: Overall, the service was warm and commendable, particularly at the front desk, concierge, and Grand Club (GC). However, the restaurant service was somewhat disappointing; during breakfast, no one cleared the plates, leaving them piled up like a small mountain without any staff attending to them. Overall: While the hotel boasts exceptional harbor views, its location is slightly inconvenient for transportation, being relatively far from the subway station and lacking nearby shopping malls for easy access. Most outings require taking a taxi (and even got overcharged by a driver coming from the Regent Hotel 😫). Nevertheless, the hotel's overall quality lives up to its flagship status, especially for World of Hyatt members who can enjoy excellent benefits here. Hyatt fans should not miss this experience!
