The building has been designated a statutory monument and its arcades are open to the public free of charge. Not only does this place have a long history, witnessing the development of psychiatric medical services in Hong Kong, it is also a rare early Baroque landmark building in Hong Kong. It uses local materials and has precise workmanship, which makes people admire it. Since May last year, a year-long light and shadow art exhibition has been held here. The exhibition is based on the concept of a time tunnel, transforming the arched corridor of the old mental hospital into a light and shadow art exhibition about love. Through the elements of art, architecture and technology, visitors can feel as if they are traveling through time and space, experiencing a visual and spiritual feast.
