Phoenix Mountain Hiking Route

#Hiking route recommendations Phoenix Mountain is one of the most popular hiking routes in Hong Kong. It’s a challenging hike, but well worth it for the views and the sense of accomplishment. It is recommended to set out in the early morning and bring a flashlight and hiking pole. The route starts from Pak Kong Au, passes through Phoenix Mountain, Chan Chai Au, Xin Jing Jian Lin, and ends at Ngong Ping. That day I took a taxi from Tung Chung Station to Pak Kung Au to start my journey. The first part, which is mainly stairs and steps, is the easiest part. Reaching the middle and back sections is the most difficult part of the hike. It’s steep and there are sections where you have to pull yourself up by hand. After that, it levels out and becomes much easier. The last mile or so was just climbing up, with great views of Lantau Island on one side and Kowloon on the other. However, it will be cold on the mountain in the early morning, so please prepare enough warm clothes.
