#Greater Bay Area Attractions The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology was established as a result of the structural changes in Hong Kong’s economy in the 1980s. In the 1980s, the Hong Kong government expected that Hong Kong's economy would transform into one based mainly on high technology and commerce, and industry and commerce would require more university students to cooperate, so the Hong Kong government decided to build a third university to meet this need. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is located in the mountains and beside the water. The whole school is very modern and feels very wealthy. It is centered around the Turkey Flag. There are restaurants on each floor of the main building and the food tastes normal. Go up the stairs on the right side of the turkey and keep walking, you will reach the world-renowned HKUST Business School. Walk forward past the turkey sign and through the student dormitory, and you will reach the playground with an unparalleled sea view. The buildings of HKUST are mainly white, which, with the blue sky and sea, makes for great photo opportunities. The campus is also free to visit.
