"Gathering in a Prosperous Era, Splendor of Heavenly Treasures: Old Summer Palace Animal Heads and Cultural Relics" National Treasures Exhibition.

To celebrate the 26th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland and the 100th anniversary of the establishment of China Travel Group, the Bangor Gallery of City University of Hong Kong, together with China Travel Group Co., Ltd. [Hong Kong China Travel (Group) Co., Ltd.] and China Poly Group Co., Ltd., presents the "Gathering of Prosperity and Glory: The Animal Heads and Cultural Relics of the Old Summer Palace" National Treasure Exhibition. The exhibition focuses on the cultural exchange between the East and the West, art technology and immersive experience. Through various innovative interactive methods, the audience can understand the conservation of world cultural heritage and the development of art technology. It highlights the museum's efforts to innovate in integrating art, science and digital technology, and achieve wider community participation. The exhibition brings together the bronze statues of the twelve zodiac animal heads from the Old Summer Palace, a royal garden of the Qing Dynasty in the 18th century. Four of the original animal heads are on display in Hong Kong at the same time. The bronze animal heads were lost for more than a hundred years and were gradually rediscovered in the late 20th century. The animal heads are hydraulic fountain devices in the Haiyan Hall of the Western-style buildings in the Old Summer Palace. Each animal head will spray water in turn according to the twelve hours to tell the time.
