《Observatory Open Day 2023☀️🌩️🌪️》

The HK Observatory held open days yesterday and today to celebrate its 140th anniversary. Adopting this year’s World Meteorological Day theme of “Weather‧Climate‧Water, Generations to the Future”, the open day will feature exhibitions to raise public awareness and awareness of climate change and introduce how the Observatory conducts weather forecasting, aeronautical meteorology, microclimate monitoring and radiation monitoring. There are several booth games, answer the questions to get small souvenirs, there are also many display boards in different areas to introduce the history and work of the observatory, and next to the radiation monitoring exhibition there is a radiation patrol vehicle on display🚐. Outside the 1883 building there is an "instrument lawn" with various meteorological monitoring instruments - including sounding balloons 🎈, with several staff members explaining.
