Architectural wonders, charming alleys, and delicious skewers – A heartfelt Southeast Asia travel review in Hoi An.

Hoi An was more than just a small town. Every step revealed a rich history and culture of architecture, and as dusk fell, the entire city transformed into a dreamy scene under lantern lights. In the morning, I purchased a ticket to explore the ancient town and began my journey. The Japanese Covered Bridge showcased a unique blend of Japanese-style roofing and Vietnamese decorations, while the Tan Ky House combined architectural styles from three different countries. Each building felt like a museum in itself. During the day, the bright yellow walls glowed under the scorching sun, creating a picturesque scene as I wandered through the alleys, snapping photos and exploring hidden corners. Time seemed to slow down, and a cup of Vietnamese iced coffee added a touch of leisure to the experience. As the sun set, I strolled near the Thu Bon River. The gentle breeze and serene sunset created a peaceful atmosphere, making it a perfect moment to sit quietly and simply soak in the tranquility. When night fell, I headed to the night market. Lanterns lit up across the city, transforming the ambiance entirely. Then came the highlight – skewers! I picked one each of chicken, shrimp, and vegetable skewers, followed by banana pancakes for dessert. The lively market vibe and the energy of the people completed the travel experience. This was undoubtedly the most memorable day of my Southeast Asia trip. Walking quietly, savoring the food, and fully immersing myself in the moment – that’s the true essence of Hoi An.
