Hohhot Xilitu Zhao: Also known as Yanshou Temple, this is a long-established Gelugpa Tibetan Buddhist temple located in Yuquan District, Hohhot, and is one of the largest temples in Hohhot. The history of Xilitu Zhao can be traced back to the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1567-1619 AD). It was originally a small temple, but over time, it was expanded and renovated many times, eventually developing into its current scale. The temple is named after the first Xilitu Living Buddha, who was the teacher of the fourth Dalai Lama and presided over the temple for a long time. In the 35th year of Kangxi, after Emperor Kangxi personally led a victorious expedition against Galdan and returned to Hohhot, he stayed at this temple and bestowed the name "Yanshou Temple" on it. Xilitu Zhao has a unique architectural style and uses a traditional layout from the Central Plains. From the mountain gate to the main hall, a central axis is formed, with side halls, warehouses, stele pavilions, bell and drum towers, etc. symmetrically arranged on both sides. The main hall uses a Tibetan structure, and the four walls are inlaid with colored glazed bricks. There is also a white stone Lama tower in the temple, which is about 15 meters high and quite majestic. It is well worth a visit.
