A Prominent Figure, Yu Youren President

Location: Beside the Balaka Road, Tamsui District, New Taipei City Introduction: Mr. Yu Youren (1879–1964), with the given name Boyun and the courtesy name Youren, was a successful candidate in the imperial examinations during the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. In the 20th year of the Republic of China (1931), he assumed the position of President of the Control Yuan. In October of the 38th year of the Republic of China (1949), he arrived in Taiwan and relocated the Control Yuan to the island. After Mr. Yu Youren passed away in the 53rd year of the Republic of China (1964), his remains were buried in the saddle facing northwest on Qixing Mountain in Taipei City. The cemetery is located within the forested area of Yangmingshan National Park in Taipei City. Groundbreaking took place on March 14th of the 54th year of the Republic of China (1965), and construction was completed in July of the same year. The scenery on Yangmingshan is beautiful, and there are many historical sites.
