It is also one of the three major hanging decorations in Japan. This is held at four venues, including Bunka Park and Mukai-an. There are about 100 pairs, or 17,000 hanging ornaments, made by local housewives, on display. It is said that the culture of hanging Hina dolls began in Inatori and then spread to other areas. At the time, Hina dolls were luxury items that ordinary people could not afford, so grandmothers and mothers started making the dolls instead.
