I visited Hengdian World Studio ‘Palace of Emperor Qin’ and I was impressed with the architectural structure of the palace. The ground is huge and I spent 1.5 hours exploring the site including watching the coronation of the emperor performance. Costumes are available for rent where visitors can dressed up for picture taking mimicking their favourite film stars I.e Miyue 羋月 Many popular Chinese dramas were filmed here. As I am a fan of ancient costume dramas, I am glad to have the chance to step on the site where some scenes were filmed. Hengdian comprises of more than 10 studios but unfortunately I only managed to spend half day at this attraction while enroute to Hangzhou. To cover all the studios, perhaps will need to allocate at least 3-5 days as the studios are spread across the town and some sites are only open in the afternoon. Hengdian World Studios is massive. It’s unbelieveable! The Qing and Ming Palaces are the exact replica of the Forbidden City in Beijing. its mind-blowing, considering the size of it. the only thing thats missing here is the portrait of Chairman Mao. if youre a fan of Chinese movies and soap operas, this is your paradise. You’ll surely recognise many of the locations and I am pretty sure you will be able to run into a film/tv shooting.
