Traditionally, Nepal's Langtang is a river valley route that starts from Syabru, along the turbulent river Langtang Khola, through Domen, Bamboo and other places, all the way up the mountain, finally reaching Kyanjin Gompa, and then returning to the mountain along the same route. But if you don’t want to go back completely, there is actually another route into the mountains from Syabru to Lama Hotel, which passes through three villages, namely Khangjim, Surka and Sherpagaon. Since this route is located halfway up the mountain, it feels somewhat similar to the "high road" of Tiger Leaping Gorge, so I would like to call it the "high road" route of Langtang. I would recommend entering the mountain from the "high road" and then exiting the mountain from the traditional river valley route. In addition to the fact that this method allows you to see more different scenery, another important reason is that the three villages of Khangjim, Surka and Sherpagaon still retain some of the atmosphere of local life, which is a good experience. Moreover, there are inns with hot water in these areas, including village baths. In addition, since it is far away from the river, there is less trouble from the noise of water flow, so staying in the villages on the high road will be quieter.
