The Best Hike in Hawkes Bay!

Te Mata Peak is one of the best hikes I have done in New Zealand! Located in Hawkes Bay, Te Mata is filled with amazing hillscapes and limestone valleys. The hike through Te Mata provides spectacular views of the neighbouring mountain ranges and 360degrees views of Hawke’s Bay. If you are lucky to come on a clear day, you can even see Mount Ruapehu in the distance! Along the track, don’t miss out on the Redwoods Forest, a 223 grove of California redwoods. The walking circuits in the forest are signposted but in the late evening when it was dark, it is easy to miss out on the signpost and get lost.
