Harbin's food was also a significant and interesting part of my Harbin tour! Thanks to its close distance to Russia, Harbin's dishes draw on the essence of both its local Harbin Cuisine and also Russian Cuisine. 📌 Harbin Madier Ice Cream It's perfectly normal in Harbin to see visitors wearing down jackets enjoying their Madier Ice Cream, while snorting and stamping their feet there. Some people even hold the view that the ice cream taste better than in summer. 📌Harbin Dumplings 🥟 In search for the tastiest dumplings I tried several shops from Harbin city to Snow Town. Orient King of Eastern Dumplings made the scrumdiddlyumptious dumplings I’ve ever tasted. 📌Tanghulu It’s a traditional Chinese candied fruit snack. 📌 Harbin Noodles Freshly handmade noodles with ground beef and special sauce. 📌 Stinky Tofu The stall I bought had both black tofu and regular available, and they tasted slightly different. Unfortunately I didn’t get what the black tofu was made of. They make it differently, putting a weird red sauce on the tofu. I was put off by the smell! It’s definitely worth trying once, but won’t try it anymore . Lol 😂 📌 Chuanr (Grilled Meat Skewers) Chuan’r (pronounced something like “chwar” is most commonly lamb, beef, or pork and it’s common to order an assortment. The skewer were seasoned with cumin, salt, and chili powder before being nicely charred on the grill with a hint of smoke flavour. I enjoyed the lamb! 📌 Hong Chang (Harbin Smoked Sausage) Similar to Russian sausage, this red sausage is smoked and flavored with garlic and salt. The sausages are sold ready-to-eat from stores or grilled and served on a stick. I ate quite a lot of sausages throughout my trip.
