Hangzhou in 36 Hours: Temples, Tea Fields & Timeless Views on the Lake 🌿

Day 1 – Tea Fields, Temples & Night Markets (Half Day) 🏨 Arrival & Check-in We arrived in #hangzhou and dropped off our luggage at the charming Han Xuan Boutique Hostel. 🍃 Longjing Village & Lunch We took a Didi ride to #longjingvillage (Longjing Cun), nestled among lush tea fields. After strolling through the peaceful village, we enjoyed a traditional lunch featuring West Lake fish and Longjing tea shrimps, a true local delicacy. 🍵 National Tea Museum Just a short distance away, we visited the National Tea Museum (free entrance!). It offered a fascinating look into China’s tea culture, history, and brewing traditions. 🛕 Lingyin Temple & Feilai Feng Grottoes Next, we took another Didi to #lingyintemple, one of the most important Buddhist temples in China. We explored the sacred halls and the surrounding grottoes, making sure not to miss the Smiling Buddha carved into the rock. 🌙 Wulin Night Market As evening fell, we headed to the Wulin Night Market, where we tasted a variety of street food and soaked in the lively nighttime atmosphere. We ended the day back at our hotel. ⸻ Day 2 – Lakeside Walks, Culture & a Night Show 🏯 Leifeng Pagoda & West Lake Views We began our full day with a visit to #leifengpagoda, which offered stunning panoramic views over West Lake—a perfect spot to start our morning. 🚶 West Lake Walk – Su Causeway We took a relaxing and scenic walk along the Su Causeway (Sudi), surrounded by calm waters, willows, and reflections of traditional Chinese bridges. 🍽️ Lunch & Gushan Road Walk After our walk, we enjoyed a traditional Hangzhou lunch near the lake, then continued our stroll along Gushan Road, known for its tree-lined paths and elegant vibe. 🚲 Biking to Qinghefang Historic Street In the afternoon, we rented bikes and cycled to Qinghefang History and Culture Characteristic Block. There, we explored old shops, tasted local snacks, and admired the preserved Ming-Qing architecture. 🎭 Evening Show – Enduring Memories of Hangzhou We rode back to the ticket center for “Enduring Memories of Hangzhou”, a stunning outdoor performance set on the lake. A magical way to end our time in the city. 🍜 Dinner & Return to Hotel We had dinner nearby and then returned to our hotel to rest after a packed and beautiful day.
