Hangzhou Little St. Regis｜Hyatt Regency Xiaoshan Airport Room Tour

▫️Some owners decorate Ritz-Carltons like Courtyards, while others turn Hyatts into St. Regises. The Hyatt, which made its fortune with airport hotels, has truly excelled with its Xiaoshan Airport property. Upon entering the room, the wooden walls and scenic bathtub give a fleeting impression of Qingdao St. Regis. The curved wet bar and the choice of furniture and lighting also bear a faint resemblance to the OCT St. Regis. Having opened less than two years ago, everything feels fresh and new. ▫️This time, I used my last Hyatt Prive benefit to stay at a cost of 300 RMB per night. With all base suites fully booked on Saturday, I was upgraded to a Regency Club Deluxe Room—still an absolute steal. Apart from being stingy with suite upgrades, this property is quite generous, offering Park Hyatt-grade red wine, complimentary Evian and San Pellegrino in the lounge, and even turndown service done proactively upon my return from dinner. ▫️Located inside the airport, the lobby is as compact as an apartment front desk. Yet, its public spaces stand out with distinctive design, far from the cookie-cutter feel of chain hotels. Each guest floor features a small lounge area with sofas and artistic installations. The pool is also stunning—I’ve even seen guests book stays just for it. ▫️The only downside is the underwhelming F&B. The lounge served just two hot dishes (one meat, one veg), and with around 30 guests dining on Saturday, replenishments couldn’t keep up. Staff remarked they were "overwhelmed"—perhaps the refined Hyatt hasn’t witnessed the chaos of Shanghai Marriott lounges.
