The 5,300 year-old city in China - Liangzhu

I had alway wondered why China has 5,000 years of history while the earliest dynasty I studied was the Xia dynasty dating around 2,000 BC. This time I knew why, when I visited the archaeological ruins of the Liangzhu (良渚） City. They site was easily reachable by a 45-minute drive (can hail a ride through A-Map or Didi easily). The site was huge. You could buy a ticket (RMB20) for an electric golf cart ride on a hop-on-hop-off basis, rent one on your own (RMB100/ hour weekday l, RMB150/hour weekends and holidays), or cycle, or walk. The site was named a UNESCO World Heritage site, and it's a nice place to go if you don't want to bustle with a huge crowd at West Lake. It's good for family too, in the middle of the site there was a deer feeding ground (deer snacks: RMB20/ pack). Near the site, for an around 10 minutes by car, is a cultural village of Liangzhu, which has a museum to explain about the details. It's worth a day of visit.
