On June 21, 1933, Zhang Jingjiang and his wife spent 8,200 yuan to buy 4.5 mu of land west of Zhiguo Temple on Gelin Road. After the villa courtyard was built, Zhang Jingjiang took one word from his and his wife Zhu Yimin's names and named it "Jingyi Villa". It is said that when building the villa, Zhang Jingjiang had high aesthetic requirements and was very picky about the texture of building materials, and as a descendant of the silk merchant tycoon in Nanxun, he had enough economic strength, so the wood and lamps he selected were imported from Europe and the United States. Even the cement used was canned cement imported from France, like the canned milk powder now, and a can of cement was only a few kilograms, the price was very expensive, and the amount used was large, so the overall cost was extremely high, and it cost about 100,000 yuan to build the entire Jingyi Villa that year. The construction process of the villa is also very exquisite, even the floor is made of artificial water mill, so it ensures the overall quality, after more than 90 years of wind and rain, Jingyi Villa is still well preserved, and the overall design is not inferior to modern architecture. The main building of Jingyi Villa is two European-style buildings, divided into east and west buildings, with corridors connected at the back of the two buildings and garden paths connected in front. The west building is the main building, with a width of three large bays, a depth of two bays, and a two-story brick and stone structure building. The sloping roof is covered with dark gray flat tiles, and there are small attic windows in the middle of the roof. The foundation of the house is very high, made of cement, and each side has a ventilation square hole. The light yellow exterior walls and dark cast iron glass windows are all in warm tones; The exterior walls of the windows and doors are decorated with cement castings, and there are slightly protruding windowsills under the windows, and there are eaves lines between the first and second floors, the overall design is very simple, but very personal and unique. The middle hall and the west side of the house on the first floor are connected by eaves corridors, and the top of the corridor is a terrace on the second floor.
