You must come to see the ancient ginkgo trees by West Lake in December!

Autumn in Hangzhou is absolutely stunning! When it comes to the most worthwhile things to see in autumn, ginkgo, sycamore, and maple leaves are the top three. Maple and sycamore trees are everywhere by West Lake, but ancient ginkgo trees are quite rare. Today, I'm going to share with you a hidden gem of an ancient ginkgo tree by West Lake. 👏 📍It's located at the site of the Great Buddha Temple in Hangzhou. There are plenty of fun attractions nearby, such as Baoshu Pagoda, which has a unique shape and a strong sense of history; Baoshi Mountain, where you can climb up to enjoy a stunning panoramic view of West Lake; Beishan Street, which is full of artistic vibes; and Broken Bridge, the birthplace of the love story of Xu Xian and Bai Suzhen. 🚌Transportation is also super convenient. Take a bus to "Geling Station" and walk for about three minutes to get there. 📆The best viewing period is from early to mid-December. When I went on December 13 last year, almost half of the leaves had fallen. Although the ground was covered with golden leaves, it was not as impressive as it was in early December. I regretted it so much, so make sure to learn from my experience and plan your trip in early December. Here's a photo guide 📷: Go early in the morning when there are fewer people and the lighting is good. You can stand under the tree and take a photo from below, using the ginkgo leaves and blue sky as the background for a fresh look. If there are piles of fallen leaves, sit or lie on them and take a photo from above for a stunning artistic shot. You can also include Baoshu Pagoda or the surrounding ancient buildings in the frame to add depth. This ancient ginkgo tree is truly a hidden gem I discovered in Hangzhou in autumn.
