Wat Ton Kaew, Chiang Mai Province

Wat Intharawat or Wat Ton Kaew is an ancient temple of Chiang Mai and is a model for preserving valuable and intact Lanna architecture. There is a Makwaen tree or wild takhop tree, which is the origin of the temple's name that the locals call it until today. There is a four-sided pavilion that is a model of Lanna art, which is valuable and was the inspiration for the construction of Ho Kham Luang of Royal Park Rajapruek. Currently, there are no monks residing there. It is open to visitors every day. There is no admission fee. It is located south of Chiang Mai city, Nong Kwai Subdistrict, Hang Dong District.
