A Refreshing Escape to Misa lake Park (미사경정공원)

#cityplaybook Feeling quite stifled after being stuck at home for several days, I decided to take a much-needed solo trip to Misa lake (Gyeongjeong) Park in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province this afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised by how incredibly spacious the park is. Parking was also quite convenient, with numerous designated areas from P1 all the way to P9. I initially parked at P6 but then opted to move my car to P5, realizing I could get even closer to the main areas – a smart move for maximizing my time. This wasn't my first time here, but it was my first solo visit. I recall coming previously at the end of April when the park was simply bursting with double cherry blossoms, and it was truly beautiful then. The earlier cherry blossoms have since fallen, and now I could see small green cherries beginning to ripen to a dark red. I learned that double cherry trees typically don't bear fruit as easily as regular cherry trees, and indeed, upon closer inspection, there were no fruits where those magnificent blossoms once were. Currently, the park is adorned with a stunning display of poppies, which brought an automatic smile to my face. However, a small but important note for anyone exploring alone: a park staff member approached me to warn against venturing too deep into the poppy fields because a snake had been spotted there. So, a definite heads-up to be careful of snakes in the poppy flower fields! Overall, Misa Gyeongjeong Park proved to be a wonderful place for a solo retreat. It offers a vast, open space to unwind and enjoy nature's seasonal changes, providing a peaceful escape from the daily grind. Just be mindful of the local wildlife in certain areas. #naturelovers #park
