I had a fantastic time at the JASDF Hamamatsu Air Base Museum (Air Park). It’s an aviation lover’s dream—and best of all, admission and parking are free! The highlight was being able to rent a full Air Force pilot uniform for free (flight suit, boots, helmet) and take photos inside real fighter jet cockpits. They even let you climb into aircraft like the F‑1 and helicopters, which made the experience super hands-on. There are also flight simulators, a VR Blue Impulse experience and three floors of JASDF history, engines, and aircraft models. Perfect for families, kids, and aviation enthusiasts alike. Pro tip: go early to secure a flight sim slot and a uniform in your size. Most signs are in Japanese, but apps like Google Translate help!
