#autumngoodplace During this trip to Tokyo, I celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday🫶I planned a two-day, one-night trip to Hakone, a suburb of Tokyo, in autumn. We left our luggage at the hotel in Tokyo and brought only a change of clothes and a few supplies to Hakone to avoid the hassle of carrying our luggage up the mountains and down the lake. The route is as follows: 🌟Day one: Shinjuku Odakyu Electric Railway—>Hakone-Yumoto Station—>Gora Station—>Sounzan Station—>Owakudani—>Gora Station—>Fufu Hakone 🍀Depart from the hotel to Shinjuku Odakyu Railway Station 🍀Take the Odakyu Romantic Express Observation Seat train GSE70000 to Hakone-Yumoto Station (1 hour and 20 minutes) - If you want to sit on the observation seat, you must buy a ticket (limited express ticket) on the Odakyu Electric Railway official website (available in Chinese) one month in advance, and payment must be completed to be successful. But I wasn’t fast enough and couldn’t get the first row. Although I sat in the third row, I still managed to take a picture of the beautiful Mount Fuji. - The limited express ticket must be used in conjunction with a bus ticket or a free pass. It is recommended to purchase the Hakone Free Pass, which can cover most of the transportation costs in Hakone. Since we did not have time to go to the Odakyu Ticket Collection Center during business hours, we did not buy online and chose to buy from the ticket vending machine in Shinjuku Odakyu Station. Please note that the date of purchasing the pass from the ticket vending machine can only be calculated from the day of purchase and cannot be pre-purchased. 🍀Arrive at Hakone-Yumoto Station and transfer to the Hakone Tozan Railway🚋Arrive at Gora Station (takes about 37 minutes) 🍀Transfer from Gora Station to Hakone Tozan Railway🚠 to Sounzan Station 🍀Transfer to the Hakone Ropeway at Sounzan Station🚡If the weather is good, you can see the super beautiful volcanic smoke scenery along the way to Owakudani. 🍀Owakudani - If you want to enjoy the volcanic smoke more closely, you can make a reservation online to enter the Owakudani Nature Research Trail. There will be a dedicated guide to explain the volcano, 4 times a day, 40 minutes each time. (Open subject to weather conditions) - If the weather is good, you can see Mount Fuji - For snacks, try Owakudani black eggs. I heard they taste just like ordinary eggs, so you can buy them as a check-in. In addition, I saw many Japanese buying yellow egg ice cream from the store farthest from the cable car station. Since I had bamboo charcoal ice cream, I didn’t try it. 🍀Take a ride back to Gora Station and be picked up and dropped off by a special car from Fufu Hakone and check into Fufu Hakone 🌟The next day: Fufu Hakone—>Gora Station—>Sounzan Station—>Owakudani Station—>Togendai Station—>Togendai Port—>Motohakone Port—>Hakone Shrine—>Heiwa Torii Gate—>Bakery & Table —> Hakone Yumoto Hot Spring Street 🍀It rained the next day. Fortunately, I went to Owakudani the day before. The route today was a downhill route. 🍀After arriving at Gora Station, repeat yesterday’s route to Owakudani Station, then transfer to the Descend Aerial Ropeway🚡 to Togendai Station 🍀Transfer to the Lake Ashi Pirate Ship at Togendai Port, and you can ride a regular seat for free when you purchase the Hakone Free Pass. We upgraded to a special cabin, which costs an additional 600 yen for adults and 300 yen for children. They have priority to board the ship. 🍀Although there is a little rain and strong wind, the scenery of Lake Ashi is also beautiful. You can go to the deck to enjoy the beautiful scenery on both sides of the lake, and the cabin design is also very gorgeous. 🍀Arrive at Hakone Port and transfer to another ship to Motohakone Port 🍀It took about ten minutes to walk to Hakone Shrine. I didn’t go up because it had to climb up 😂 🍀Going down is the check-in hotspot Kaiwa Torii. I queued for about 30 to 40 minutes. I can ask the next group of passengers to help me take pictures.
