The breeze is light and the clouds are faint over Nanbei Lake

Nanbei Lake, like West Lake, is a lagoon at the mouth of the Qiantang River. Nanbei Lake is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the sea on one side. The lake is winding, with Baodi Dam traversing from east to west, dividing the lake into southern and northern halves, hence the name 'Nanbei Lake'. It is the only panoramic resort in our country that combines mountains, lake, and sea, like a dazzling pearl set at the foot of Yingniao Mountain. A dike lies across, dividing the lake into south and north, not deep but winding. At the southern end of the island lake is the sea, where the world-famous Qiantang Tide is formed. Here one can enjoy the source of the Qiantang Tide, the mirage of Shifan, and other wonders, as well as fun by the seaside. Professor Chen Congzhou, a famous garden expert, praised Nanbei Lake: 'The mountains have layers, the water has twists, the sea has wonders. It is more slender than Slender West Lake, more exquisite than West Lake, and combines the strengths of both.' Many poems and songs are hard to capture its charm; one can only slowly walk into it, to feel its mystery and etherealness, to fully experience its leisurely slow life. Strolling along the lake, watching the shimmering waves, the snow-like reeds by the water, the pavilions, towers, and continuous mountains reflected in the clear lake like a natural ink painting. The mountains around the lake are continuous, with pine, bamboo, tea, orange... The near green and distant indigo embrace a pool of clear water, which can be described as a picturesque scene of lake and mountain, full of poetic imagery.
