Its jagged crevasses glowed under the piercing Himalayan sun, while prayer flags fluttered wildly, tying earth to heaven. Local Tibetan vendors in thick coats sold yak wool scarves, their smiles warm despite the freezing air. I pressed my hand to the ancient ice, feeling millennia of frozen history. The silence was profound—broken only by distant avalanches rumbling like thunder. In that moment, humbled by nature’s raw power, I understood why Tibetans revere these landscapes as sacred.
