Guangzhou city

Day 1: Arrival and First Impressions I arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and was immediately struck by how modern and efficient everything was. After settling into my hotel in Tianhe District, I took a short evening walk. The city’s skyline lit up beautifully — it felt both futuristic and deeply rooted in tradition. Day 2: Exploring Yuexiu Park and the Five Rams I started my first full day with a visit to Yuexiu Park, home to the iconic Five Rams Statue and the Zhenhai Tower. The lush greenery and historical monuments gave me a glimpse into the heart of Guangzhou’s culture. Later, I sampled some street food — the roasted chestnuts and rice noodle rolls were delicious. Day 3: Canton Tower and the Pearl River I spent this day at the Canton Tower, one of the tallest towers in the world. The view from the top was breathtaking. At night, I took a cruise along the Pearl River, watching the city glow in neon lights. It was peaceful and stunning. Day 4: History at the Chen Clan Academy I visited the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, a beautiful example of Cantonese architecture. The intricate wood carvings and ceramic figures told stories of local art and education. I also visited Shamian Island, where European architecture remains from the colonial period — it felt like stepping into another country. Day 5: Shopping at Beijing Road I dove into Guangzhou’s retail scene at Beijing Road Pedestrian Street. It was lively, packed with shops, local snacks, and hidden archaeological ruins under glass panels. I bought souvenirs and tried dim sum at a local teahouse. Day 6: Day Trip to Chimelong Safari Park I spent the day at Chimelong Safari Park, one of the largest in Asia. I saw pandas, white tigers, giraffes, and even fed elephants. It was a relaxing day away from the hustle of the city. Day 7: Local Life and Markets I explored the Qingping Medicine Market, where dried herbs and traditional medicines filled the air with unique aromas. I wandered through local food markets, watched old men play chess, and admired how the city balances old and new. Day 8: Temple of the Six Banyan Trees I visited the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees, a peaceful place full of incense and prayer. The Flower Pagoda was beautiful and calming. This was followed by tea tasting at a local teahouse — I learned about different varieties of Chinese tea. Day 9: Food Adventures in Haizhu I dedicated the day to Cantonese cuisine. From claypot rice to steamed fish, I tried it all. Guangzhou is truly a paradise for food lovers. I ended the day in Haizhu Wetland Park, enjoying nature and serenity before heading back to the busy city center. Day 10: Farewell and Reflection On my last day, I took a quiet morning walk, reflecting on how much I had experienced. Guangzhou had surprised me with its history, hospitality, food, and energy. I left with a full heart, a full stomach, and a promise to return.
