Reunion in Guangzhou after more than 20 years

This 2-day, 1-night trip to Guangzhou was full of surprises and wonderful memories! Our group of six (including several elders) was extremely excited to visit Guangzhou again after more than 20 years. There have been huge changes: the streets are cleaner, there is less car noise, and the air is much better. The hotel we booked through Trip.com before departure was affordable, conveniently located, and had an ideal location, and received unanimous praise from everyone. The first day's itinerary started from Shangxiajiu Road. We strolled along the arcade street full of Lingnan style and tasted authentic Guangzhou dim sum at the Taotaoju old store. It suddenly started to rain heavily when we turned to Yongqingfang. We took shelter in Heytea and unexpectedly enjoyed a relaxing afternoon tea time. The next day, we visited the Yin Ji Rice Noodle Roll Shop near the hotel. Unexpectedly, this seemingly ordinary shop had exquisite decoration, full of nostalgia, large portions and affordable prices. The rice noodle rolls taste good, but I personally still prefer the Hong Kong style. Then we went to Guangzhou Tower. It was very convenient to buy tickets on site through Trip.com. The system automatically imported the high-speed rail booking information. The ticket purchase was completed in just a few minutes, and there were also discounts. When visiting the Sacre-Coeur, we were pleasantly surprised to find a bustling seafood street just outside the church. We strolled around with great interest for more than an hour and bought a lot of dried goods. We then went to Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, where we visited Fengcheng Wonton Noodles twice. We felt that the wonton noodles in Hong Kong were better and we were able to fully experience the prosperous atmosphere of Guangzhou. As it was Mother's Day, we originally planned to have dinner in Shenzhen. Fortunately, we changed to an express train in advance and arrived at Shenzhen Station from Guangzhou East Station in just 1 hour. We arrived at 5:30 and were seated smoothly at 6:00, successfully avoiding the crowds in the restaurant after 6:00, and returned to Hong Kong easily after dinner. Although the trip was short, everyone had a great time. The elders were especially happy to relive the customs of Guangzhou and experience the new changes.
