A representative of Guangzhou's low-key luxury hotels, hidden in a corner of the downtown area!

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Guangzhou has been open for more than ten years. After being polished by time, it has become more and more classic and has a charming oriental charm. Ji Yutang has indeed contributed a lot to this hotel, especially the design of the guest rooms, which I personally like very much. It can be seen that each guest room is carefully designed with so many clever ideas, and the arrangement of the circular traffic flow is really surprising. The design of the MINI bar in the living room is also thoughtful and comprehensive. It can be opened to become a lower bar counter. The height is just right, making it convenient for guests to stand and drink coffee or wine at will. It is very lifestyle. 1. The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Guangzhou, actually has a very good geographical location. It is located in the bustling CBD center of Guangzhou Tianhe, hidden in the prosperity of Taikoo Hui. From the hotel, you can easily go to the shopping mall and enjoy the fun of shopping. 2. The hotel is built around a central courtyard like traditional Chinese architecture, but has a design aesthetic that blends East and West. The entrance hall draws on the style of the colonial era, with high ceilings, columns covered in bronze and oak, and tall louvered doors. Furniture throughout the hotel is a mix of locally sourced and imported pieces, reflecting many different periods and cultures. 3. The hotel’s main breakfast restaurant, Ebony, features an interior where specially commissioned paintings by Uruguayan artist Capelán enliven the white walls, contrasting with the surrounding dark oak. A living moss sculpture at the restaurant’s entrance acts as both a buffer in the foyer and a verdant, colorful centerpiece in the dining area. The dining chairs and table were custom designed by Chi and his partners, a process Marsh says involved at least four or five shop drawings and mock-ups to meet his design intent. 4. Local Cantonese cuisine is served in an Art Deco-influenced restaurant called Jiang, where the space is framed by semi-enclosed booths, glass partitions and smoke-mirrored walls. Fine cakes and pastries are served at the Chinese Cake Shop, a yellow-painted boutique that serves as a transitional space between the hotel’s public spaces and the adjacent Taikoo Hui shopping mall. On the mezzanine, a bar with no official name is a secret place to entertain guests. The intimate space includes a main bar, private booths, and a private room. 5. The hotel has 233 luxurious rooms and 30 suites. The designer skillfully combines modern minimalism with Chinese oriental style to create a spacious, grand, heavy and quiet atmosphere. Through the large floor-to-ceiling windows, you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the city skyline. 6. The original bakery on the first floor has been redesigned. The design inspiration comes from the perspective of oriental aesthetics and modern design techniques, outlining a Lingnan painting of eastern and western borders, paying tribute to the charming beauty of Lingnan. The design comes from CCD Hong Kong Zhengzhong Design Office. The design style is a continuation of Ji Yutang's style. It is not abrupt or inconsistent. Some new elements are added to make the space more fashionable and modern.
