A Journey Through the Cantonese Opera Art Museum: An Elegant Time

Stepping into the Cantonese Opera Art Museum feels like entering a magnificent dream. The elegant Lingnan architectural style, with its pavilions and towers, is beautifully arranged. Red lanterns hang high, and the melodies of opera linger in the air. The museum's collection of costumes, musical instruments, and opera manuscripts all reveal the long-standing heritage and brilliance of Cantonese opera, a national treasure. The most captivating part for me was the costume exhibition hall. Each costume, adorned with gold threads and colorful beads, seems to encapsulate memories of time, telling stories of the joys and sorrows once performed on stage through exquisite embroidery. In the adjacent video area, classic performances by famous Cantonese opera artists are played, with melodious and touching singing that strikes the heart, making one appreciate the profound heritage of this art form. Sitting on a small chair in front of the stage, I imagined the lively scenes here decades ago, with the audience's cheers and the clamor of gongs and drums intertwining, blending art with life. As I left the museum, it seemed that the echoes of those 'highlight plays' still lingered in my ears.
